The Office of the Ombudsman has reported a sharp increase in the number of protected disclosures from whistleblowers. Numbers increased by 80% from 2022 to 2023 and a further 58% from 2023 to 2024. The Chief Ombudsman has welcomed this trend, saying he is heartened to know people feel more comfortable about reporting issues.
