About the role
This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute senior lawyer to take a leadership role in the delivery of high calibre legal support for this innovative technology focused business.
This role involves a mix of leadership, litigation management, large scale project work and challenging BAU matters. Manage, coach and mentor an award winning Legal and Regulatory team of 6 direct reports and engage with a variety of stakeholders to proactively manage risk and drive strategy.
You’ll provide support on transformational programmes and operational issues, advise on applicable laws and regulations, and ensure this business continues to receive the proactive solution focused approach it is used to receiving from its internal legal advisors.
What we’re looking for
· A qualified senior lawyer with NZ legal practising certificate and upwards of 8 years’ PQE
· Experience within a well-regarded commercial law firm or as inhouse counsel for a medium to large organisation or SOE
· High quality general commercial and litigation management experience, particularly within statutory and regulatory frameworks
· An energetic, caring and inspiring people leader
· Sound commercial judgement and excellent legal analytical skills
· Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to work with diverse teams and people
