Baywide Community Law provides free legal services to people with a diverse range of needs. We have offices in Tauranga and Whakatane and run clinics across the wider Bay of Plenty.
Baywide is now looking for a lawyer to join their growing team. This role will see you working on an interesting and varied caseload so you will need to be the type of person who thrives in an environment where no two days are the same! Alongside this you will have a strong interest in social justice and be committed to providing high quality legal advice to our community.

What will you bring with you?
- 2-5 years PQE
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with our culturally diverse community
- Experience in family and employment law preferred
- Knowledge of Te Reo Māori would be an advantage
- Demonstrated skills as a team player and effective collaborator
- Proven client management skills and the ability to work confidently on your own
- Strong computer skills and capacity to use an online document management system
- A current full NZ drivers’ licence
- A current NZLS practising certificate and the right to work in NZ
This role is focused on supporting our Tauranga office however you will also be working closely with our Whakatane branch so occasional travel may be required.
