We're looking for a Regulatory Affairs Advisor to join AIA to support us in leading the life insurance industry through significant regulatory change and respond to emerging industry issues. Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs, this role is a great opportunity for an experienced legal practitioner who is looking to step in-house, gain on-the-ground commercial experience and join our award-winning Legal & Regulatory team.
About the role:
· Keep abreast of imminent regulatory change and emerging issues impacting the life insurance industry and support the team in communicating the impacts of these across the business.
· Work with senior stakeholders to consider change management requirements to meet new obligations and expectations.
· Through research and internal consultation, support the development and promotion of AIA’s views on key industry, regulator and Government priorities, e.g. in relation to adviser, prudential and conduct regulation, industry codes and other developments related to broader issues such as climate change.
· Advise and assist with conduct and culture matters, driving good customer outcomes
· Help coordinate AIA’s response to new Government policy, regulation and regulator or industry body consultation requests.
· Coordinate AIA’s regulatory engagement and response to reviews including liaising with key stakeholders to collate information
· Attend industry events and committee meetings as and when required.
About you:
· Strong research skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to consult and liaise with senior stakeholders to understand and translate business objectives.
· Organisational and time management skills.
· Change management experience.
· Legal experience at a top-tier law firm or within an in-house Legal team is preferred.
· Relevant tertiary qualification (legal qualifications preferred) and 3+ years PQE.
