Senior Corporate Secretary

Our Governance team provides a vital connection between the ACC Board and the business, and within this, the Senior Corporate Secretary holds a key position for making that connection.

 

Mo tenei turana mahi - About this role

This position is a secondment or fixed-term for eight months, commencing in October.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide the full suite of end-to-end governance services to the Board and its Committees (including reviewing agendas alongside the Executive team and Chair, taking the Executive team through draft papers, running meetings, and drafting and finalising minutes and action points)
  • Collaborate with the Chief Executive and Executive team including their advisors and key business stakeholders on advice to the Board
  • Manage correspondence to and from the Board Chair and prepare any reporting or updates for the Board Chair in between meetings
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Governance to proactively drive continuous improvement of ACC's governance approach and practice
  • Provide feedback and advice to authors of papers to the Board and Board Committees

This is a Wellington based role, working full-time hours. We are open to fixed-term, or a secondment if you are with another agency.

 

Ko wai koe - About you

We are looking for a confident, engaging, and experienced governance practitioner with excellent knowledge of the public sector governance landscape. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to professionalism, integrity and collegiality and the ability to work on a wide range of governance matters. You will have a strong background in governance, law or business teamed with excellent analytical skills.

This role will suit someone with an eye for detail and a commitment to good process. You will also pride yourself in your mature and credible manner when dealing with key senior stakeholders.

The appointing salary range for this role is approximately $130,000 to $159,000 with appointment depending on skills and experience. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.
